Co – curricular activities continue to develop and improve among all sections of the school in particular, there has been a marked improvement in debating, elocution, quizzing, story writing and painting competitions. The students are encouraged to develop their musical talents through active participation in musical programmes. Our athletic team consists of very strong athletes both in boys and girls section. We actively participate and have won many medals at Zonal, District and State level championships.
Celebrations
Most important festival of the school is our annual day celebration, which includes sports and cultural programmes. Participation of parents is also encouraged on this occasion. The interesting feature of this day is tug of war between staff and students on one side and parents on the other side. On this day prizes are given to the winning students and houses. National festivals are celebrated as usual with the hoisting of the National Flag & this is followed by a special Assembly to mark the occasion.
INTRAMURAL SPORTS AND RECREATION
All the students of R.P.S. are divided into four houses namely Nilgiri, Shivalik, Deccan and Jaintia House. 13 teachers are associated with each house. 16 teachers work as non-house teacher who conduct and judge the activities. The houses are coordinated by House Masters and House prefects. Many inter house competitions are held during an academic year and at the end of the session, houses get the trophies according to their standing. This inculcates a strong sense of competition among the students of various houses. The school activities also include sports and recreational activities. Students are encourage to learn new sports and other recreational activities. School has a large athletic track and students are intensively coached in athletics. Reakot Public School has won many prizes at Zonal, District and State Level championships.

In order to harness the hidden potential of our students, Inter-house Poem recitation is held where the students recites the poems with enthusiasm, full of actions and face expressions. Their spontaneity and stage performance is appreciated whole heartedly by one and all.

ENGLISH SPEAKING YEAR
English has attained a status almost to the mother tongue in many countries like India, Singapore, Canada, USA etc. The fact cannot be ignored that 80% of information stored in computers is in English. It has proved to be a unifying force, erasing the regional and linguistic barriers, providing a common platform of communication. Therefore it is imperative that all of us acquire at least a functional knowledge of English. Keeping this in mind our school observed previous years as English speaking year under which students actively participated in making posters, captions etc to arouse the interest of speaking English. Various activities are also conducted like declamation, debate, elocution, quiz contents, group discussions, poetry recitation etc. This year too is being celebrated as English speaking year.
